Our Forge is open (and sheltered from any rain!) for the feast day of St. Dunstan on May 19th - make sure you dip your hand in the blacksmith's trough, it may cure that baldness right up! 😝🙈
Live music all day, so pop down and have one in the Forge for St. Dunstan!
Perhaps the most famous story of St Dunstan is his encounter with the Devil. A mysterious woman with a hood was said to have entered Dunstan's forge one day, but Dunstan noticed her feet were hoofs! Dunstan grabbed the Devil and nailed a horseshoe to his foot, in a particular way as to cause the Devil great pain! Dunstan only agreed to remove the shoe and release the Devil after he promised never to enter a place where a horseshoe is over the door. This is claimed as the origin of the lucky horseshoe.
Join us on May 19 to celebrate the patron saint of blacksmiths!
